Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to make us stop.

This is a template privacy policy for a static content site. Before publishing, have it reviewed against the jurisdictions you operate in and the specific analytics, advertising and email tools you actually deploy.

What we collect#

Analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying usage data: pages viewed, referring source, approximate country, device type. Used to understand which guides are useful and which need work.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you give us and the date you gave it. Nothing else.

Advertising. Third-party advertising partners may set cookies and collect data under their own policies. Where required, a consent banner controls whether these load at all.

Server logs. Standard web-server logs including IP address, kept for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.

We do not collect names, addresses, payment details or passport information through this website. Bookings made through partner links happen entirely on the partner's own site under their privacy policy.

Cookies#

  • Essential — required for the site to function.
  • Analytics — set only where consent is given or where the jurisdiction permits aggregate measurement without it.
  • Advertising — set by third parties, only with consent.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site works without them.

Sharing#

We do not sell personal data. We share the minimum necessary with the processors that run our analytics, email and advertising infrastructure, each under contract.

Retention#

Analytics data is retained in aggregate. Newsletter addresses are retained until you unsubscribe, after which they are deleted. Server logs are rotated on a short cycle.

Your rights#

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export the data we hold about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, contact us.

Children#

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes#

Material changes to this policy will be noted with a revised date at the top of the page.
